What is Magical English?

Magical English is a fun and exciting way for students to learn English. There are 10 fun, original songs and dances to get your students singing and moving around, enjoying English. There are also puzzles and 10 challenging games, to help your students learn.

Magical English has several key points;

First, all the song pages are color coded to help students easily find each lesson, and the page numbers have been clearly and largely printed to help teachers incorporate numbers into their lessons.

Secondly, the vocabulary and lyrics pages have 5 notes hidden throughout them. Students race to find and colour the 5 notes. This means students look forward to starting each lesson, and as the teacher walks around the class praising the students, students who have finished, naturally look at the pages, read the Japanese, and discover the objectives of the lesson, they are also exposed to the 'shapes' of English.
The penmanship 'races' around the edges of the page are also great fun and good practise for students' writing skills.

Thirdly, each vocabulary page has the English and the meaning in Japanese ! This ensures a full and complete understanding of each song, provides support for slower students, and encourages faster students to try 'reading' the English. It also provides a mini 'dictionary' which students can refer back to , and allows easy communication between students and teachers. Parents can also be encouraged to study with their children and even play the games at home as they will also have the meanings of the target language.

Fourthly, at the top of each Vocabulary page, there are 4 boxes. These provide a fun way to motivate students and monitor their progress, with students being rewarded with stickers or stamps as they pass various levels.

  • The first box represents that students can 'sing' and dance along with the song.
  • INPUT
  • The second box represents that students got a perfect score on the vocabulary test.
  • MEANING
  • The third box represents that students won the game.
  • OUTPUT
  • The fourth box represents that students can communicate with a teacher.
  • APPLICATION

Fifthly, students are regularly tested this provides an opportunity to verify students understanding and practise their listening skills as well as giving students a sense of achievement.

Sixthly, each song is reinforced by students playing fun and exciting games, using all the English that they have learned , by having students playing games in pairs, it allows students more talking/practise time, students also feel less pressure when playing games with their friends, and a key factor is that as students play games in pairs it frees the teacher to support, assist and help individual students.

So Magical English provides a great way to get your students, listening, singing, dancing, speaking, understanding and using English in a fun and stimulating way.

So let's sing, let's learn and let's have fun !
